All our bikes use this premium electric motor and unique control console. BionX (pronounced ‘bye-on-ix’) has been the lead worldwide in developing powerful, reliable, adaptable power systems for bikes. Their latest systems are also the most efficient, lightweight and silent in the industry. The standard BionX system includes the motor, housed in the wheel hub; the control console, mounted on the handlebar; and the battery, typically mounted on the frame. With its unique and complete conversion kit, the BionX system can be retrofitted on most bicycles: road, mountain, tandem, folding, recumbent bikes, and trikes, allowing you to convert the bike you currently own, or a new bike.

The BionX kit includes: control console; a spoked wheel with the motor mounted in the hub; battery pack; battery mount with cables; and charger w/power cord; as well as hardware and instructions, and optional rear-rack if needed for the battery mount (Next Page). You indicate a rim size when ordering. Gearing installation is easy with a screw-on threaded free wheel.


BionX Control Console

The control console includes: a multi-functional odometer, four assistance levels and four generative settings, a battery charge indicator, and a programmable security alarm system. Variable-speed thumb throttle is standard on all consoles for instant acceleration.

Assistance: Controls the 4 power levels; analog display indicates power supply from battery. The power-assist maximum speed is adjusted to the regulations of the country where the system is delivered.

Generation: Controls the 4 generative settings; analog display indicates power transmitting to battery.

Multifunctional Odometer displays current speed, tripmeter, odometer, chronometer, and average speed.

Battery Charge Indicator allows you to monitor the level of charge remaining in your battery.



Alarm System: when activated with a secure 4-digit PIN (personal identification number), freezes the pedals and sounds an alarm. Two wheel-turns are enough to set it off. In addition, we recommend using a high quality bike lock at all times. (The weight of even a heavy lock will be offset by your pedal-assist!)


BionX Battery

The BionX Lithium Manganese rechargeable battery is safe, stable, light, and extremely compact. A single charge of the battery can provide a range of 60 miles or more to a charge. Using the ReGen system, apply your brakes or coast downhill and send energy straight back to the battery. The BionX system includes a charger that will recharge your battery in three hours or less. The battery itself is easy to install using water bottle mounts or a rear rack, and can be removed within seconds.


BionX Motor

The BionX motor uses smoother SinDrive technology, a unique software that keeps the motor silent and vibration free while increasing its efficiency and power. The BionX motor is housed in the weatherproof wheel hub with an aluminum casing. The 2” wide hub is compatible with disc or rim brakes. We recommend that you install disc or hydraulic brakes, front and rear, and shocks on your front forks to most effectively and safely ride with the increased power you’ll have on your converted bike.



BionX Limited Warranty: All components except the battery are covered against manufacturing defect for a period of two (2) years from date of purchasing. Battery is covered for one (1) year.
