This journey began in 2010 out of one man's garage, with a need for a more affordable and environmentally friendly transportation option. Electric-assisted bicycle technology at that time left a lot to be desired; the options were few and the motors were heavy, offering very limited range with each charge of the battery. Over the next decade, Seattle Electric Bike incrementally grew as the quality of electric assisted systems steadily improved. From humble beginnings selling one brand out of a home garage, to its first retail storefront in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle. Next came a full service center with experienced full time mechanics, and a second location at the North end of Lake Washington in Bothell.  With the recent addition of the Bellingham store in 2020,  SEB became the largest volume independent electric bike retailer in the region.  More important than the past is the current improvements and future plans. In 2022 Seattle Electric Bike's original founder retired by selling the business to its employees and it is now operated as a worker owned cooperative.  With an experienced,  passionate and knowledgeable crew committed to service, Seattle Electric Bike looks forward to continuing to grow in this rapidly evolving industry while contributing to our local communities that we serve.
